IMPROVING THE LIVES OF MILLIONS WORLDWIDE
Thanks to donor support, diabetic care and treatments have been revolutionized, improving the lives of millions around the globe and making Sinai Health Canada’s referral centre for the most complex diabetic cases. Our Lunenfield-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI) is known globally for its work in the area of diabetes and has been at the forefront of many pivotal discoveries.
100 YEARS OF CARING FOR THE TINIEST PATIENTS
A century ago, Mount Sinai Hospital opened the doors of its small maternity ward. Today, our Newton Glassman Charitable Foundation Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) cares for some of Canada’s most fragile babies, like the Nadarajah twins, who weighed just over one pound each after being born at only 22 weeks. Under the Family Integrated Care Model, the first of its kind in Canada, their mom and dad were fully involved in their babies’ care guided by our multidisciplinary team. Donor generosity helps ensure we have vital NICU supplies and tools.
OUR NURSES ARE AMONG THE BEST IN THE WORLD
Mount Sinai Hospital is Canada’s first and only hospital to achieve MagnetŪ recognition, a prestigious, international credential that measures nursing excellence and patient care. Magnet hospitals go above and beyond, surpassing international benchmarks for patient outcomes. Our nurses deliver compassionate, world-class care and are supported to be the best they can be. Donor generosity helps fund clinics and programs that elevate the standard of patient care.
