On Thursday, July 16, 2020 we were notified by our database software provider, Blackbaud, that it had discovered and stopped a ransomware attack that took place between February and May, 2020. This attack has had an impact on many of Blackbaud’s clients around the world including Sinai Health Foundation.

After Blackbaud first notified us of the breach on July 16, 2020, we immediately began inquiries with Blackbaud to determine the extent of the breach and the data that may have been accessed. Blackbaud informed us that the data which was accessed consisted only of de-personalised aggregated data about the giving patterns and trends of our donors. Blackbaud has assured us that no information belonging to Sinai Health Foundation that could be used to identify a donor or anyone else, was compromised.
