Sinai Health Foundation partners with luxury fashion label to raise funds for breast cancer care

October 1, 2021

Looking good and doing good is now as easy as reaching into your closet and wrapping yourself in a designer dress.

Sinai Health Foundation is partnering with Toronto luxury fashion house RVNG Couture to raise funds for the Marvelle Koffler Breast Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital. Fresh off the runway at New York Fashion Week, the “HOPE” dress is now available for pre-sale purchase in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October.

“Breast cancer has touched us all in one way or another,” said Jordan Stewart, founder of RVNG Couture. “We wanted to create a special dress to raise awareness about the importance of women’s breast health, while also making women everywhere feel empowered and glamourous.”

The HOPE dress is an eloquent wrap dress covered in a majestic floral print. Stewart chose the print because of its symbolism to life, with each flower celebrating strength and perseverance.

RVNG, founded and designed by Stewart, first made waves on the Canadian fashion scene in 2018 with a debut collection at Toronto Fashion Week. Her collections seek to empower women with clothing that delivers continuous craftsmanship, glamour and reverie.

“We hope this hazy pastel dress will wrap you in hope,” said Stewart. “We are committed to being a part of the world-leading care that Mount Sinai Hospital provides for its patients every day in their courageous fight against cancer.”

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women and the second-leading cause of death from cancer. One in nine women will develop breast cancer and one in 29 will die from it.

Established in 1995, the Marvelle Koffler Breast Centre (MKBC) was the first dedicated breast cancer centre in Canada. It was the first centre in Canada to integrate all aspects of breast care in one place: offering women detection, diagnosis, counselling and treatment services. It now treats more than 34,000 women annually.

The dress retails for $350 and is now available for sale. Shoppers will also be able to purchase it in select retail stores in spring 2022. More information on the HOPE dress and how to order can be found at Rvng.ca.
