Susie was an energetic single mom who loved skiing with her son. She was also in the first wave of people who caught COVID in March of 2020. Like many others, she felt completely in the dark as she tried to keep up with the developing information about the virus. But she couldn’t have imagined that the worst was yet to come.
After the initial infection had passed, her symptoms lingered even though all her tests were negative. At the worst stages of her experience, she was dealing with more than thirty different symptoms including fatigue, disorientation, and brain fog. This cocktail of symptoms would soon have a name Long COVID.
Find out how Susie navigated this illness, before many had even heard about it, and what inspired her to create COVID Long Haulers Support Group Canada - a Facebook group where individuals coping with the illness could find understanding and support. She also shares about her work to establish The Long COVID Society - Canada’s first not for profit dedicated to Long COVID.
Susie has made it her mission to make sure no one has to navigate the ups and downs of Long COVID alone, offering support through an online community.
