Dorothy Dworkin
Lifetime Achievement Award
Named after Dorothy Dworkin who was a driving force behind Mount Sinai Hospital's early years, this award celebrates volunteers who like Dorothy have been with us through many ages and stages of life.
The ideal nominee:
- Has been a Sinai Health or Sinai Health Foundation volunteer for 20+ years
- Has been giving consistently to Sinai Health Foundation or supported our hospitals in another significant way
- Has consistently opened their network to help secure community support for Sinai Health
Ben Sadowski
Volunteer of the Year Award
Named after Ben Sadowski who deeply believed that Mount Sinai Hospital was destined for the world stage, he was the driving force behind the hospital's move to University Avenue to become an academic health sciences centre.
The ideal nominee:
- Has supported and/or attended 2-3 Sinai Health events in the last calendar year
- Has participated in 2-3 fundraising initiatives in the last calendar year
- Has given an annual gift or has introduced Sinai Health Foundation to their network in the last calendar year
- Has participated in a committee either on the Board or through an event or other initiative
The Rising Star Award
Named "Rising Star" to recognize emerging volunteer leaders and deepen their connection to Sinai Health.
The ideal nominee:
- Is active member of Future Sinai, Leadership Sinai, Venture Sinai or another event committee or perhaps a young volunteer at the hospital who has had a big impact
- Has helped to lead a significant fundraising effort or spearheaded a committee at the Foundation or at our hospitals
- Has given a gift themselves/in a pledge or supported the Foundation in some other way
Nomination Rules and Regulations
Nominations can be submitted by any current Sinai Health Foundation Board member, any current Sinai Health Board member, any current Sinai Health Foundation staff, and any member of the Sinai Health Executive and Leadership teams.
Nominations are reviewed by a Selection Committee made of up Dr. Gary Newton (President and CEO, Sinai Health), Louis de Melo (President and CEO, Siani Health Foundation), Andrew Hoffman (Chair, Sinai Health Board of Directors), Richard Pilosof (Chair, Sinai Health Foundation Board of Directors) and Janice O’Born (Chair, Sinai Health Foundation Stewardship Council). Members of the Selection Committee cannot be nominated. Any nominations received for them will be void.
A nominator can submit a maximum of 3 nominations. Any additional nominations received by the same nominator will be void.
