Champions
of Care

Special thanks to our
Sinai Health community

Thanks to you, patients across Sinai Health benefit from the best possible care. Your gifts are working hard to improve lives by spurring clinical excellence and practice-changing research. We couldn’t do it without you.

This past year, you continued to drive the Renew Sinai capital campaign. Renew Sinai has already constructed new labour and delivery suites and a neonatal intensive care unit. Now, thanks to your commitment, we’re on the cusp of creating Mount Sinai Hospital’s new intensive care unit, emergency medicine centre, inpatient units and ambulatory care unit. It’s an incredible accomplishment, made possible thanks to your support.

You also fueled important advances in our Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI). Last year, the LTRI acquired a state-of-the-art sequencing machine to radically advance genomics research. LTRI scientists will harness this technology to study tissue regeneration in the intestine, to improve treatment for inflammatory bowel disease. With countless other regenerative medicine capabilities, that’s just the beginning.

Furthermore, your gifts were instrumental during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Powered by you, we responded nimbly, launching the Sinai CEO Fund within a few short weeks. This fund has allowed our hospitals to quickly pivot — changing nearly everything about how we work within and across our institutions. It has supported our front-line heroes, helped patients stay connected to their loved ones and seed-funded research to improve COVID-19 testing and treatment. We have your fast action to thank for this incredible accomplishment.

Your generosity has been leveraged by Sinai Health Foundation’s dedicated volunteers and talented staff, whose hard work over this past year has rallied our growing community of supporters, spearheaded an outstanding season of events and launched new initiatives to demonstrate the impact of your gifts.

With $65 million raised last year, your philanthropy and volunteerism has demonstrated and solidified our institutions’ histories of strength and resilience. As we approach our 100th anniversary, we are so grateful for your continued commitment, and your impact on the care we provide. Your gifts touch countless lives. You should be deeply proud.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
